Honda CR250R

The 1978–1980 Honda CR250R Elsinore is an iconic 250cc two-stroke motocross bike, known for its powerful engine, long-travel Showa suspension, and aggressive ‘Red Rocket’ styling. The all-new 1978 CR250R introduced Honda’s first reed-valve 250 motocrosser with a claimed 36 hp and nearly a foot of suspension travel, making it a major step forward in performance and technology for the brand’s mid-sized class. Later updates in 1979 and 1980 refined porting, chassis design, and plastics while retaining the air-cooled engine and twin-shock rear suspension, with 1980 marking the final year of the classic air-cooled, dual-shock CR250R configuration that vintage riders and collectors still prize today.
